Im Heath, I was raised in a small rural town in the Southplains of the Texas panhandle. Moved to the Austin area and graduated culinary school about 15 years ago.
Growing up we always had a large garden, fruit trees, etc. We always canned and preserved as much of the harvest as possible.
To this day I still have a small container garden and enjoy making jams and canning the local produce.
